attack of the messy house

Thanks for all the love on my tree quilt and a big hello to some new readers! Have you guys been following along all the beautiful quilts in the Blogger's Quilt Festival? There are some seriously beautiful quilts in there!

This week is turning out to be a crazy one. I have a craft fair on Saturday that I am feverishly preparing for. Sewing production line style is not the most fun, but it sure does work. Unfortunately my house is really suffering from neglect! Just a little glimpse into what my house is looking right now.

To begin, I'm a messy sewer. I go through all my fabrics, cut everything and then leave it out. Lest we not forget that I sew in my "dining room".

I can assure you that no dining has been going on in this room at all. Oh, can you see that little bit of green stuff on the table? Yeah, Moon Sand given to Isaiah for his birthday. He loves it. I can't say I share his affinity for it. And last but not least, our kitchen. Dirty dishes piled high.

This is when a dishwasher would really be useful! I'm just hoping to have the Merry Maids come knocking on my door saying that someone sent them to me as a gift! haha.

John also has a PET scan tomorrow, so that is adding a little bit of stress too. It's late in the day, so I'm sure I'll be thinking about it all day long. So any extra prayers our way would be much appreciated.

And if all this isn't enough, my birthday is on Saturday (same day as the craft fair). I am really looking forward to celebrating after this crazy week is over. I have something very exciting coming up for you all on Friday, so make sure you stop by to check it out!

It looks just like home! One day I will develop the necessary 'c'est la vie' attitude to actually share a photo of my craft area, in the meantime vanity forbids. I'm blessed with a little room all my own, which my mother and neighbours quietly refer to as 'the pit'

I would feel quite comfortable in your homey mess. Happy early birthday by the way!

Looks like my house when I get busy crafting.

Happy early Birthday... and best wishes for tomorrow.

At least it seems like you're confined to one room - I'm all over the place! That was a discussion point with myself & hubby last week - "can't you confine your stuff to just 2 spots?" Sending good thoughts your way tomorrow!

Looks very familiar. I have my own sewing room to which I can shut the door, but sometimes it gets so bad that I drag my stuff into the dining room "temporarily." Sigh.

Lots going on over there - best of everything!

I can empathize with the crazy and the mess - my goal right now in terms of cleaning is just to do the dishes once a day, but I have a dishwasher. Good luck with everything!

Um, can I just say thank you! Thanks for being real and posting some messy house photos. I always feel like looking at everyone else's blogs, that they have it all together -- cooking every night, taking care of the kids, spotless house, scads of sewing accomplished every day, you name it -- it's good to see someone else's house look just as chaotic as mine. :) I'll be praying for the scan.

Hey, I think you have came here and took pics! Wishing you an early Happy Birthday! I will keep John in my prayers. Next time you come over to take pics, will you clean my house up a little? ha!

I'd be right at home at your house. With two teen-age boys and a hubby that works from home, AND NOBODY THAT DOES DISHES BUT ME, my sink looks a LOT worse than yours, lol. Sending a prayer about the PET scan!

Looks familiar! But did you see SMS' Spring Cleaning checklist? I'm determined to get through it by summer...

Gee, for a minute I thought you snuck into my house and took some photos.
Good luck with the fair.

Hmmm where have I seen that kitchen before? Oh yes, in my house! lol
I'm envying you that sewing room mess right now though. I just started sewing and have become addicted to it and fabric but my fabric stash is quite small in it's beginning stages. I would love to have all that fabric to create with!

I get creative block if my sewing corner of the living room gets too messy, but the rest of the house can generally wait.

There must be a bug. I was thinking of posting that I HAD cleaned my house! Shocking, even the tub.

I tease my husband that if we buy a house with a dishwasher, I will nickname it "Jeffrey," because he does way more dishes than his sewing spouse.

LOL - the same thing just hit my house! The laundry is revolting and the dishes overfloweth! That is what Saturday mornings are for - cleaning and straightening up. I think my recent house attack came in lieu of a conference last weekend. So instead of my normal cleaning routine - I had to work. Hence the mess. Ah well, it happens.

I'm with you on dragging everything out when I have a project going and then cleaning it all up afterwards.

Good luck with those Merry M*aids. If they show up I am sure someone else will steal them from you......;)

Best of luck on the scan. It is always a worry.

This is totally how my sewing/crafting room looks like pretty much ummm...all the time. My husband also shares this room so it is half music room/half sewing room! I try to make my half the bigger half.

My house is very messy right now. I've barely been home long enough to do anything but throw in a load of laundry here and there. Joe just asked me what my plans are today. I said, "CLEAN!" Ugh. I really don't want to. I don't know where to even start. The kitchen, maybe? But even that is a little overwhelming with all the Easter baskets on my island ...

And what is it with Moon Sand? My kids always want that stuff! Anything they see advertised on TV they want.

What a very Hobbit birthday celebration! Have a wonderful day. My hubby just came home...I have a project in the front room on the table, and I am machine quilting on the other large table...I could not do the laundry or much house work today...I was waiting for the plumber!

Hi
My prayers go out to you.
And I could see myself in that house.
Thank you for sharing.

I'm a terribly messey sewer! I often wonder how anyone sews neatly? I'd rather just clean up the mess at the end. I also sew on my dining room table. One day I'll have a room...

Dear, Belated birthday wishes. I too have such a messy house once in a while thanks to my sewing obsession. Saturday was my daughter's birthday too.
