Wonderful, Amazing, Relieving

The title says it all. All of John's scans came back clear. His PET scan did not show any sign of activity at all. The doctors were so pleased and encouraged by his results. It is such a relief, I can't even tell you.

And I know I already said it, but I really wanted to express my gratitude again. You have all been amazing, supportive, and wonderful and I cannot thank you enough!!

Congratulations! I've been a reader for a while, but never left a comment :) and "lurker" just sounds creepy. You were in my thoughts today, I'm very happy for you and your family. It's such a long and scary process for everyone. Be well...

Katie,
I'm so glad to hear that things went well with the doctors. I've been keeping an eye on your blog for a while.
Having recently been through the trauma of watching my husband deal with really crazy medical situations, I know all too well what a strange sensation it is to get the "all clear" word from the professionals. I felt like I was breathing a sigh of relief, while still holding my breath. . . it's hard to actually believe that everything is okay.
In the midst of situations like this, it's easy for people on the outside of it to forget the potential of some hard emotions that can come up for the person who was/is sick and especially for the wife/partner of the sick person. I guess this long rambling note is just to say that it's okay to still have lots of scared feelings, even though he's okay. Lots of times the partners hold it all together during the ordeal and then lose it after the fact. And, it's really normal to need some help dealing with those feelings. So, seek it, if either of you need it. And, of course, feel thankful, relieved and happy too!

Don't know if you remember me from last fall, but I commented that we went through a similar situation some years ago. Anyway, I am so thankful the scan is clear.
