Happy Little Clutches

well here are the finished clutches. The person placing this order will remain nameless, just in case any clutch recipients are reading this. So, you know who you are if you ordered these and I hope you adore them! I think they turned out very cute. I always love sewing bags from fabric combinations that people have chosen. It allows me to see other color and pattern combos that I may have never put together myself! So here are the bags for "nameless", so sorry if you absolutely have to have them because they are all for "nameless", but I would be happy to make you one anyway.

This one went along for the ride and is available to sale. Just contact me if you're interested.

I would also like to say a word about Lindsey Lohan (LL, as G and Ryan call her on E!News). I find her statement on attending AA hilarious. (you can find it here http://www.imdb.com, my main source of news haha). She says she's been going to AA for a year, but is only sober for 7 days. But then goes on to say she doesnt drink because she's not even legal. Oh the joys of a young person with tons of money and nothing better to do! Anyway, that's my news update for now.

Anatomy of a Clutch

I've been sewing up a storm and decided to document the process. Not every step has been included, but here's a quick synopsis....

The cutting begins..

All cut out and waiting for interfacing..

Pile of all the pieces with darts sewn in

Sewn up, trimmed and ready to be turned right side out

I'll post the finished clutches when done!!

Clutches

I just wanted to clarify my earlier post on the clutches. The three pictures below were each at cost, $10 as those were the first ones I had made. They are now $20 each. Sorry for any confusion!

New Bags

Well.. I'm back from Florida and I've been busy trying to get some new bags put together. This has proved to be a difficult task as Isaiah is getting into everything. We left the saucer at our new house and I have nothing here to corral him. Coupled with the fact that he is not napping as he usually does, I have little time to sew without chasing after him. Anyway, here's what I've been able to get done so far. Two are just the usual tote style, one large, one small. The other is a new design I'm working on. I'm pleased with how it's turned out, but I still need to perfect the little details. Anyway... here they are:

Returning from Florida

Well, I've been on a little bit of a hiatus because I have been in Florida for the past two weeks visiting my sister-in-law and her new baby. I hope to have some pictures up shortly and to have some new bags to show off this week. Just in time for Christmas shopping!

New Items

Well I finally have a moment to recover from the hectic few days we have had. Yesterday, we closed on our house so we are finally homeowners! Yay! There were a lot of papers to sign, but it went very smoothly with no problems. So, if you're in the Riverdale/Washington D.C. area, come visit us. Also, some more exciting news. I will hopefully be selling a few of my items at the local post office/trading company. Just in time for the holidays. I am beyond thrilled about this.

Anyway, while I have a few minutes before Isaiah starts to wonder away, I'm posting two bags that I made for a recent order (Thanks Bridget!). I really like the way these ones came out and now I have many orders to start working on. The next few days will be very busy for me, as I am leaving for Florida on sunday and trying to work on our new house at the same time. Sooooooo if you have christmas orders, please try to get them in ASAP so I know what I'm working with.

Well here are the bags. Also, Im posting some of the fabric that I have on hand, as a few of you have asked what I have in stock. Keep in mind, this is not all that I have and I will be willing to find exactly what you want. Sorry for the pictures, as I am not the best photographer. But these will have to do:

David Hasslehoff

ok... so elections are today and I really could care less. I have not paid attention to what the candidates have to say and will be thankful when they are over so their annoying ads stop interrupting my precious tv time.

Anyway, last night I was watching e!news "coverage" of America's got Talent try-outs, and I came to this conclusion: David Hasslehoff is a robot. Now this may surprise some of you, but think about it. He drove a car that talked, ran endless miles on a beach saving people, and Germany loves him. He is indeed a robot. He just moves weird, talks weird, looks weird. All the signs point to him being a robot.

In any case, I'm off to sew some more bags. I will be posting some new merchandise later. Don't forget to get your orders in if you are interested in Christmas presents!

Halloween re-cap

So, we had a great time on Halloween. Poor Jenna and Matt drove 2 hours just to see Isaiah in his little costume! He is so lucky to have such a nice godmommy and mcsteamy (that's for you matt!) While we waited for Jenna and Matt to get to the house, John, Isaiah, and I sat outside and handed candy out to the kids that came by. Our neighbor, Bijan, probably had the best costume I've seen on any kid. Take a gander.. you'll never guess what he was! He was Elton John. That's right, a 8 year old boy dressed as Elton John. It was hilarious. He had earrings, sunglasses, suitcoat, and flashing necklaces. Just the thought of it brings a smile to my face. Well I have no bags to show off tonight, but I am about to get started sewing. Here's a picture of Isaiah, as promised.Image hosted by Webshots.com

Happy Halloween

Well today is Isaiah's first Halloween and he is going to be a penguin. Yesterday we went to the picture people and had his picture taken with his costume on. As if I didn't feel like such a crazy mom already for putting him in a costume, one of the workers there said "hey, weren't you guys here not to long ago?" Gee, I felt like one of those super psycho moms. Anyway, the pictures turned out so cute and of course we had a really hard time deciding which ones to choose. It didn't make it any easier that John's mom was with me as she analyzes each one! I'll be sure to post the pictures when the send them to us via e-mail.

Tonight we'll be taking Isaiah trick-or-treating. I'm not quite sure how that will go, but at least maybe we can get some good candy and re-live our childhoods of candy trades! I think the last time I went trick-or-treating was when I was in high school and Amy DiTommaso and I decided to dress up as ghosts (how originial) and walk around the neighborhoods. Im pretty sure that we were definitely too old for that (we were at least 16) and got some mean looks from some of the candygivers (for lack of a better word).

anyway, here are some of my newest creations. They are a work in progress and I have totally perfected them yet. So, lucky you, I'll be selling them at a discount price of $10.00 until they look like something Martha would approve of. Comments/suggestions are welcome!
Well here they are:
SOLD!

I've entered the blog world....

Since I'm a stalker of Craftster.org (my new favorite favorite website, for all you crafting nerds), I've noticed that many people are marketing their businesses through blogs. Most of these blogs are so intriguing that I literally spend hours reading them. I just love listening to what people have to say, see what they do with their daily lives. It is just so fascintating to me. However, most of these people are such great writers and have so much to say. Me, on the other hand, not so great with words. This may be due to the fact that I spent just as many hours watching reality tv as I do reading other peoples blogs, coupled with the fact that my main social interaction everyday is with an 8 month old. I'm pretty sure my brain is deteriorating rapidly. So, needless to say, I don't want to here any comments on my grammar or spelling. Or that I have nothing important to say, as I will definitely not be discussing anything of major importance in the world. Although in my mind, the break-up of Reese and Ryan is rather devastating.

In any case, all these useless rambling has brought me to the real reason I have started this blog in the first place. I love to craft, sew, and just plan create things. Since I am a stay at home mom, I would like to have a small home business to call my own and I have decided to try to offer my goods to you!

Hopefully I can post pictures of things Im working on or have decided to sell. Maybe I can get your input, or not. If you've made it all the way through this uselessness.. well... good for you, and thank you too!
That's all for my first post and since I feel it needs a picture..... here's my little one with his ladies man look
