oh, hey there!

So I've come to realize if you state "goals" at New Years, you're really setting yourself up for failure. Well at least in my case I was. Pretty much what I should have said was "blog less, sew less, and don't get organized." Then I probably would have done the opposite and gotten much more accomplished. The only thing I've really sewn in the past few weeks were some more of the Dear Jane blocks. I do so love these little blocks, but they can be time consuming. Now that I've gotten most of them traced and some more aqua & red fabrics I'll be on the road to catching up.

Mostly we've just been busy. We were in NY for Christmas until New Years and just went back last week for my cousin's wedding. I love visiting home but it is hard to travel, even if it is a short trip. I finally put away the Christmas decorations in the attic. I consider that my major accomplishment for today!

There's so much more to do around the house. I would love to be sewing or knitting, but it is just plain messy around here. We have a pretty small house and I'm still trying to find room for all those new Christmas presents. And laundry, oh the laundry. I'm not sure it will ever end! Anyone have some good organizing/cleaning tips? I think I just need a maid!

Pheeww.. that was a lot of rambling. I apologize for that! I promise to be back soon with some craftier posts!

That paragraph on new year's resolutions made me smile. I'm back ay work in 5 days (I'm a teacher and the summer holidays are coming to an end) and I haven't done half of the things I was going to get done.
...sigh...

I gave up making resolutions years ago. Life happens and what gets done....gets done. Period!

I was wondering where you'd gone.
Your little blocks are looking great!

Check out flylady.com - supposed to make cleaning/organizing easier. I still seem to find ways to procrastinate!

Love your blocks! I bought the dear jane book in hopes of creating my own...unfortunately I haven't even chosen fabrics for it...so you are one step ahead of me! I had to take 3 full days of complete cleaning and organizing to get myself back into our routine after the holidays. But I still can't seem to find enough time to sew!

oh, hang in there! it is so hard after christmas, finding a place for everything. I just went through each of the kids rooms and got rid of so much stuff. they helped me, so they were sad about me getting rid of anything that was still meaningful to them. anyway, we are going to do it again next year, only before christmas, so it won't seem so crazy!

I hope you will be publishing some more patterns in the future as my wristlet turned out perfectly (you can see the results if you're interested at my blog, www,whiskandwhimsy.blogspot.com).

Otherwise, looking forward to lots more inspirational crafty shots from you in 20ten! xx

Love the colors you're doing your dear jane / baby jane in. I just got the book and software this week. I was going to take a few weeks to decide what colors I wanted to use but could not resist starting. I'm going with white for background and scrappy for the 2nd fabric. 2 blocks down and way too many to go. I'm starting with the easy blocks.

love to see your little new blocks.
Well, cleaning the house has never been my favourite, too. So no best tips for you, unless take a deep good breath and start cleaning as much as you like :)

Your blocks are beautiful! I just giggled through your post about resolutions!! I can relate.

As for tips well...the best is only handle things once-as in don't pile and if you leave a room give it a scan to see if you can take anything with you to deposit in its home.

For me I just watched the show Hoarders and it completly motivated me to clean out and keep up with it. The show made me feel so bad for anyone with that problem and helped me to really look at the things I hang on to.

Thanks for the smile, Katie.
