When Karyn was showing off her millions of pillowcase totes, I got excited and thrifted a whole bunch. Of course, I never made any totes, so when I saw this new idea I thought I might as well try it. Sooooooo here it is.
It was so easy and really cute. I asked John to take a picture of me holding it, but his picture sucked, so I made him model it so I could take the picture. Yeah, he didn't like it that much, but I'm a little pushy, what can I say?
I'm also on my way to getting a few things made to open an etsy shop. I've been trying to think of some orginial things to make, but so far not so much luck. Anyway, I did whip this little baby up. I used the apples & pear fabric that I looooooooove and didn't want to cut up, but John was right after all, fabric is meant to be used.
Oh, and if you are interested in some American Girl Doll books & such, I am listing something on eBay soon. I'll let you know when it's up!

Very nice tote-I have a perfect pillowcase that I could use for that project!
Cute tote! I saw that, too, and thought I'd give it a try. It would be good for going to yard sales don't you think?
Yeah on joining Etsy! Let me know!
Oh and I know what you mean about not wanting to cut up the fabric. I'm that way with a lot of supplies. It's like "I won't use this, I'll save it for something else." That would be the reason for my excess of supplies and lack of finished projects!
I love your tote! And the little pouch/purse is very cute : )
What a cute tote! I have a ridiculous amount of vintage pillowcases in my stash and I'm always looking for good ways to use them up. I'll have to check out the mag. Thanks for the heads up!
Fun tote! I love the little pouch. I've been searching all over Joann's for that pear fabric, but no luck.
O my goodness, I have been missing SO MUCH over here! I adore those teacups a few posts down, and that tote is spectaculah!!! Glad you had a terrific mothers day :)
I saw that tote, too, but couldn't for the life of me figure out WHY I'd need another bag. So cute though, I might have to try it just for fun.
Love the tote! I love all of the bags you make, actually. I have never made one for myself, and every time I see one of yours I want to give it a go, but I have performance anxiety I guess. Maybe soon. Good luck with the etsy shop!
LOL, I was just about to make one of those myself.
I hate you, you've gotten me hooked back on MSL. I thought of you immediately when I saw the pillowcase tote for some reason. Yours turned out fabulous.
And you thought you'd already seen too many pillowcase totes??? Just you wait! he he he
Thanks for helping me find it in the magazine. Can you even believe I missed it??????
Very cute tote!
That pillow case has a nice pattern to it.
I have been noticing a trend of new etsy accounts lately. Or at least people in the planning stages. I think I may jump on the band wagon. I have been trying and testing original materials. Lots of failures, but you got to start somewhere!
Ooh, can't wait to see that MSL. Very cute tote and lovely fabric!
cute tote!
(and we have most of the the AG books - any other stuff (clothes, furniture?) going up for auction? - says the Always On The Lookout for AG Stuff Woman?)
